We don’t see the salary figures you type into our calculators, but our advertising partners, including Google, do use cookies on this site. This page explains what we collect, what third parties collect, and how you can control it.

The short version

• The numbers you enter into a calculator are processed in your browser. We don’t receive, store or log them.
• We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads.
• We keep the messages you send us so we can reply.

What we collect

Calculator inputs. Salary figures and other values you enter run locally in your browser. They aren’t sent to our servers. Advertising scripts run on the same pages, but we don’t pass your inputs to them.

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we keep your name, email address, message, and the page you sent it from, so we can answer and reproduce any reported error.

Automatic data. Like any website, our host records server logs: IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, referring page, and date and time. We use these for security, troubleshooting and traffic statistics.

Advertising data. When ads load, Google and its partners may collect your IP address, device and browser details, cookie identifiers, and information about the ads you see or click. Section “Advertising” covers this.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in three ways:

1. Essential cookies, which keep the site working and remember your consent choice.
2. Advertising cookies, set by Google and other ad partners to serve, limit and measure ads.
3. Analytics cookies  Google Analytics.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site may stop working, and you’ll still see ads, just not personalized ones.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. Google may also use the DoubleClick cookie for this purpose.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org.

Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)

We rely on your consent for advertising cookies and non-essential analytics, our legitimate interests for security and server logs, and your request when you contact us and we reply.

Who receives your data

Our hosting provider, Google (advertising), and google analytics process data for us. We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws treat advertising cookie activity as “sharing” or “sale” of personal information, so we offer an opt-out through the cookie settings link and honor the Global Privacy Control signal where our consent tool supports it.

International transfers

Our host, Google and other partners may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, those transfers rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

Contact messages stay for [12] months after the last reply, unless the law requires longer. Server logs are kept for [30 to 90] days. Cookie lifetimes are set by each provider and range from a session to about 13 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send you a copy. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of sharing. Email editorial@salarytaxcalculators.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is a general-purpose tool and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us data, email us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS and reasonable technical safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Links to other sites

We link to official tax authorities and other sites we don’t control. Their privacy practices are their own.

When our practices change, we update this page and the date at the top.
